  • Are passionate about the rights of people with a disability

  • Have a person-centred and rights-focused approach: the needs, support and dignity of the individual is central to their practise

  • Can demonstrate a practical knowledge of both the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities and the Disability Act 2006 

  • Work collaboratively within a team environment

  • Have experience supporting individuals who may present with complex behaviour

  • Have or are working towards obtaining Certificate IV in Disability or higher

  • Recognise and demonstrate confidentiality obligations and diversity awareness

  • Are willing and able to work a range of hours- days, nights, weekends

  • Are committed to working in keeping with an individual’s plans – their goals and aspirations, person centred plans, and behaviour support plans

  • Have a current driver’s licence

  • Hold current level 2 First Aid and CPR certification


Rubix Support operates a stringent safety screening procedure for all preferred candidates including:

  • an identity check,

  • a satisfactory national and international (where applicable) police check,

  • a current Working with Children’s Check,

  • a cleared Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme (DWES) check and

  • two professional references.
