Rubix Support’s Training and Development service delivers expert, tailored training to disability service providers, child protective services, education settings and other direct support professionals across Melbourne and Victoria. Our trainers bring real-world clinical expertise — not just theory — having collectively trained more than 3,000 support workers in the Positive Behaviour Support framework.

Whether you’re looking to upskill your entire organisation, train a new team of support workers, or build sector-wide capability in specialist areas, Rubix Support can design a program that fits your team, your context and your goals.

Who We Train

Our training is designed for organisations and professionals working directly with people with disability, including:

  • Disability support providers and their frontline support worker teams

  • Child protective services and out-of-home care organisations

  • Schools, education settings and early childhood services

  • Residential and Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers

  • Allied health teams working within disability and behaviour support contexts

  • Health services and community organisations supporting people with complex needs

We can deliver training to teams of any size, from small frontline groups to large organisation-wide programs.

How Our Training Is Delivered

Rubix Support’s training programs can be delivered:

  • On-site at your organisation across Melbourne and Victoria

  • Online or via telehealth for distributed teams or remote delivery

  • As one-off workshops or ongoing program series

  • As customised training for your specific participant cohort or organisational context

All training is delivered by experienced clinical practitioners — not outsourced facilitators — ensuring the content is grounded in genuine, current sector expertise.

Our Training Programs

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Training

Our PBS training is our most in-demand program and the foundation of everything Rubix Support does. Delivered by registered Behaviour Support Practitioners with decades of combined clinical experience, our PBS training equips support workers, care teams and organisational staff with the knowledge and practical skills to:

  • Understand what Positive Behaviour Support is and why it works

  • Recognise the function and triggers behind behaviours of concern

  • Implement Behaviour Support Plan strategies safely and consistently

  • Understand Restrictive Practices — what they are, how they are regulated and how to reduce reliance on them

  • Support the rights, dignity and quality of life of the people they work with

  • Fulfil their NDIS compliance obligations confidently

Our trainers have delivered PBS training to over 3,000 support workers across Melbourne and Victoria — making Rubix Support one of the most experienced PBS training providers in the disability sector.

Trauma Informed Care Training

Trauma has a profound impact on behaviour, communication and wellbeing. Our Trauma Informed Care training helps teams understand how past trauma shapes the experiences of the people they support, and how to create environments and responses that promote safety, trust and healing rather than inadvertently re-traumatising.

This training is particularly valuable for teams supporting:

  • People with complex or dual diagnoses

  • Children and young people in out-of-home care

  • People with histories of abuse, neglect or institutionalisation

  • Individuals in forensic disability settings

Sexuality and Relationship Education (SRE) Training

People with disability have the same rights to healthy relationships and accurate sexuality education as anyone else — yet this area is frequently overlooked in professional development for support workers and carers. Our SRE training is delivered by qualified Developmental Educators who are also registered PBS Practitioners, giving teams the knowledge, language and confidence to:

  • Understand the importance of sexuality education as a human right for people with disability

  • Respond appropriately and supportively to questions, behaviours or situations relating to sexuality and relationships

  • Create environments where people with disability feel safe to express their identity and seek information

  • Support individuals receiving Sexuality and Relationship Education from Rubix Support’s SRE team
